Do you have things in your heart that you want to see come to pass, but you don’t feel like sharing them with anyone at times because they either seem unreasonable or they actually scare you because you know it’s going to require you to step outside your comfort zone in a big way. Sort of like getting out of a boat in the middle of the ocean and trying to walk on water.

Have you ever wondered where those dreams and deepest desires originate? I’m talking about the deep desires of your heart to be or do something significant that will positively affect your life and those around you and make their lives better somehow.

God Gave Them to You

He gave you dreams so that He could be the one fulfilling them through you for the ultimate purpose of drawing others to Himself, and showing them His goodness.

God has no intention of placing desires in His children’s hearts and then frustrating them by never allowing their dreams to come to pass in their lifetime. That would be child abuse. But neither does God want us to take those desires that He’s given us and try to fulfill them through our own limited human intellect and abilities apart from His personal involvement.

We Need Him

When we take what God has given us in the form of dreams for our future and then run with them totally on our own—not stopping to take advice from Him—the success of that project or dream is severely handicapped and limited at best. It may actually appear very successful from the world’s perspective.

But many times without the knowledge of its possessor, that thing that was originally a dream conceived in the realms of heaven, materializes as nothing more than a short-lived corruptible monument to man. Sometimes it begins deteriorating almost as quickly as it started…in light of eternity which has no limits, no boundaries, and no end.

If you prefer to be involved in something lasting, something eternal, and something blessed by God’s own hand, then follow the desires in your heart that you know He has placed there.

Lay it Down for a Season

There must always be a time when your dream or desire is tested for its motives and validity. The test comes through the passing of time with little proof of its fulfillment, or through a variety of other seemingly unrelated experiences that have nothing to do with making your dream happen.

Occasionally, although very painful, the dream may have to be laid aside or put on the shelf for a season in order to thoroughly test and purify your motives.

I’ve done this one personally many times. I’ve had a dream in my heart for forty-three years this year of 2015. And while the intensity of it has subsided a bit, the reality of its presence is no less obvious than it was more than forty years ago when I graduated from high school. And, I believe the fulfillment of it is on the horizon.

In the process of waiting, God is making you fit and ready for what He has prepared for you up ahead. He’s developing character, perseverance, faith, tenacity, and other valuable qualities inside you as a person. You will need these traits before you get to your dream because they will allow to you bear up under the weight of not only the responsibility of your dream, but the blessings that come along with it which could destroy if you don’t have the character necessary.

Joyce Meyer has a great quote in this regard. She says, “Your gifts can take you where your character cannot keep you.” This is worth meditating on.

In this “entitlement generation” that we’re living in today, so many people, regardless of age, think the world, the government, corporations, and so on owe them something just because they have a diploma, or a degree, position, money, influence, or whatever. Unfortunately, many don’t have the character necessary to treat their peers with respect when they’re given high paid positions of authority, responsibility, and honor. You can never demand respect; it must be earned.

A Final Important Test

When you choose not to pick up your dream once you have laid it down, but it remains in your heart and affects your thoughts, your emotions, your conversation, you wake up with it and you go to bed with it, the chances are very good that it’s from God.

But I believe the bible shows us that there is one final thing that probably should happen to validate whether or not God is authorizing or promoting your dream.

If we’re honest with ourselves and with God, we should be able to admit that we need Him each step of the way if this dream is going to succeed. And there’s no better way than to hear His voice on the matter.

We as children of God need to invest quality time in developing the sensitivity of our hearts to the voice of the Holy Spirit who always speaks to us what He hears the Father saying to Him (see John 16:13). We can do this by reading and meditating on His word, taking the time to talk to Him and letting Him talk to us, worshiping him in private, and sometimes just sitting quietly and soaking in His presence with an expectant attitude of heart.

The most comforting and reassuring way for me to know that God is OK with me pursuing a particular dream is when I receive clear words of confirmation about that desire from the Holy Spirit in God’s word. Secondly, is to have confirmation come through the mouth and heart of a trusted family member, friend, or spiritual leader that I know, and you know is walking in close relationship with the Lord.

God used this method repeatedly throughout the Old Testament scriptures in the lives of men like Abraham, Daniel, Elijah, Ezekiel and many other prophets who had God encounters in the night seasons with dreams or angelic appearances. He also continued using this method throughout the New Testament in the lives of many like Peter, Paul, and many others. And He is still doing it today!

Many times dreams were validated by a word of confirmation—a prophetic word—that would bring further important detailed words of instruction so that their plans and desires would be accomplished successfully.

This is how I know the dream that I’ve been waiting on for over forty years is going to happen in the future. I’ve had many words of confirmation from trusted individuals and I know God is faithful to watch over and perform the words and plans that He has put into action over our lives (see Jeremiah 1:12).

God Wants You to Succeed

Does God really want to see my dreams to fulfilled? Absolutely! Will He only allow my dreams to be fulfilled if they are spiritual in nature? No!

Look at this scripture, I love it in the Amplified Bible. Proverbs 16:3: Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

Psa. 37:4-5 are companion scriptures to this one. God said that if we delight ourselves in Him, He will give us those desires (they’ll come to pass) of our hearts. If we just trust in Him, He will bring them to pass. God is so good, He’s not holding anything back from us. But He won’t give us a bunch of stuff if it’s only going to make us more selfish than we already are.

We need to obliterate the religious idea that God only blesses dreams that involve spiritual activities.

Listen to this quote by Pastor Bill Johnson of Bethel Chapel in Redding, CA. “Religion implies that only overtly spiritual activities are acceptable as service to God and that anything that doesn’t have to do with Bible reading, witnessing, church attendance, etc. is not true Christian service. Religion takes us back to the concept of spiritual and secular parts of the Christian life. The person living this dual life needs a list of priorities to survive; otherwise, they will not take care of the matters of importance. Their concept of God doesn’t allow them to actually have a passion for something that is not viewed as a Christian discipline.”

Every good and every perfect gift comes down from God, the Father of lights in whom there is no shadow of turning (Ja. 1:17). In other words, He’s just waiting for you to believe that He really is good and He wants to bless you with the fulfillment of the dreams He gives you. But more than that, He wants an intimate relationship with you, like a Father with His daughter or son. However, you must come to Him through His son and admit that you need Him.

God is the source of all beauty in art in all its expressive forms, as well as beautiful craftsmanship. He is the source of all wisdom, knowledge and intelligence in the business community as well as the products and services created. He is the source of all ingenuity in technology, communication and so on.

He wants to be intimately involved in everything about you. He wants you to succeed in the fulfillment of your dreams so that others are drawn to His love, His beauty, and His excellence that is being released in and through you, simply because those divinely conceived destinies are now coming to pass in your life.

Serving You Truth,

Have you ever asked yourself this question: If God is such a loving God, why did this or that happen? Or why didn’t He come through in this situation?

Doesn’t the bible say, “Ask and it shall be given?” And doesn’t it say, “Knock, and it will be opened to you?” Or what about, “Whatever you ask in prayer believing, you shall receive?”

I don’t understand.

Wrong Teaching

So many different persuasions of so-called “bible teaching” are floating around today that it’s no wonder there are so many people experiencing things that are exactly opposite of what Jesus experienced in His ministry during His life.

In Psa. 115:16, the bible says that the Lord gave the earth to “the sons of men” which immediately implies that we have some responsibility to perform. While the Old Testament was written under the laws of a different covenant, we actually have a higher level of “personal” responsibility and accountability now days to the Lord first, then to our families, loved ones, and ourselves.

I came from a very controlling and demanding legalistic and religious upbringing that not only implied, but openly taught at times that when bad circumstances came against you, God was either punishing us and trying to grow us up to be more like Him, or He was mad at us and we’d better straighten our act up.

This kind of teaching comes from a lack of understanding of what we currently have in Christ, and secondly, the truth that God really is a loving, merciful, and good God who only has our best intentions at heart.

God Gave Us His Authority

In Luke 10:19, Jesus told His disciples, “Behold, I give you authority…over all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means shall harm you” (NKJV). The Gospels provide numerous examples—ships in the storm, feeding of the four and five-thousand, casting devils out of people, healing others, etc.—where it was very apparent that Jesus was plainly disgusted with His disciples because they did not or would act on what He had already taught them.

In Matt.10:8, He commissioned more of disciples with power to, “heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons.” It’s hard to deny that He clearly gave us the same power He had to make His kingdom collide with this natural realm. And each time Jesus, or finally, His disciples acted on His Father’s words and authority, the earthy realm always gave way and bowed its knee to God’s kingdom authority…always!

The True Nature of The Father

If we will allow ourselves to be open-minded enough to admit that our particular denomination or doctrinal teaching might not have had “all the right answers,” we might just find ourselves standing in a new level of freedom and authority over our enemies and our circumstances that we’ve never experienced before.

But, in order to reach this place you must believe that God is always good and always loves and is NOT responsible for all the havoc and destruction that is happening on the earth today. If you believe that, then what in the world is the devil’s job? Doesn’t John 10:10 say that the (or devil) only comes to kill, steal and destroy, but Jesus comes to “give life” (not take it away) and give it in abundance?

Jesus also said in John 14:9 that he who has seen Me has seen the Father. And in Hebrews 1:3 it says that Jesus is the expressed image of the Father upholding all things by the word of His power. And last but certainly not least, John 3:16-17 God SO loved the world that He sent Jesus and that He did not send Him to condemn the world but the world might be saved.

Does that really sound like a God who wants to judge, condemn, and destroy the very beings He created? Luke 9:56 says that the son of man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.

Act on the Word Alone

In closing, I’d suggest that if you’re being fed traditions and doctrines of men that are not lining up with the word of God, and furthermore are not producing the same results that the word promises, then get out of there fast and repent for it.

When Jesus confronted the religious leaders of His day in John 5:39-40 He rebuked them because He told them that they were searching the scriptures because in them “they thought” they would find eternal life. And in fact, the scriptures even testified of Jesus. But then He said, “but you’re not willing to come to Me that you may have eternal life.”

The whole purpose of learning and abiding in God’s word is first and foremost for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Then when that is established and we know who we are in Him and what we have in Him, we can and should start walking in the authority He won for us on the cross over His adversaries. We are not supposed to be “under anything” from the devil, the world, or the flesh.

That’s why the apostle Paul said in 1 Cor. 15:57, “Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Doctrines of Demons

Posted: March 13, 2017 in Uncategorized

So many “so-called” spiritual teachers and leaders today are “still” taking My words that “are” Spirit & Life (see Jn. 6:63) and “spiritualizing them” and they’re dumbing them down and making them impotent and void of power to bring authentic physical, spiritual and moral transformation in the lives of those they “are” responsible for before Me.

When they do this, they have taken My word that was intended to bring “real life” to broken bodies and souls and they turn My rhema word into “doctrines of demons”. When this happens, the influence of whichever kingdom is motivating the message is the manifestation that most certainly will occur.

If you always “spiritualize” my word about healing, deliverance, and salvation and turn it into a message about spiritual growth only because you don’t believe in healing and don’t know how to minister it to others, you teach people that My gospel is only good to become another source of intellectualism and humanism.

Serving You Truth,

Full Surrender

Posted: February 27, 2017 in Uncategorized

I want to share something with anyone who has ever dealt with the fear of “full surrender” to God. I believe in my heart that the Lord gave this to me and I’m sure it will help one honest person who is willing to admit that surrendering all to God can be scary sometimes.

This is what the Lord shared with me last May.

“Full surrender to Me is not My expectation of you living at a level of perfection in your walk with Me that is unattainable. That would be unjust and unfair of Me to expect that of you.

It simply means surrendering to me daily, sometimes hourly. When you fall down, don’t just stay there and roll around in the dirt. Get up and move forward (see Prov. 24:16). Pull out your sword and use it whenever necessary.

Do not allow the enemy to harass you mentally or emotionally. He has NO power against you and NEVER will UNLESS you agree with his lies. He has nothing to offer you, EVER, except lies and deception.

Even the most beautiful, tempting, tantalizing thing he has to offer you will ALWAYS lead to some type of death. Be it spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, financial or otherwise.”

Are You Sober?

Posted: February 10, 2017 in Uncategorized

Have you noticed what’s going on around us the last few years? It seems obvious that the secular world system has intoxicated the majority of the population with its messages of political correctness and self-indulgence of every vice possible as well as a myriad of other destructive habits and character traits.

When someone becomes intoxicated or drunk, there are visible signs you can easily recognize.

  • They become disoriented
  • They don’t see or hear correctly
  • They don’t listen to instruction
  • Their senses become dulled
  • They become easy prey

What’s sad about this condition in people is this. Most of them are not aware of their present state physically or mentally. So they’re also not aware many times that they can and do cause harm to people they love as well as other innocent people.

Many people in the world today are exhibiting these same signs. But the cause is not chemically related. Instead, it’s manifesting in them spiritually, emotionally and relationally, etc.

Many of them aren’t even aware that there is a problem. They have literally become drunk with their own secular humanistic belief systems. They’re actually being manipulated by a spiritual enemy whose primary goal is to destroy them physically, mentally and spiritually.

In 1 Peter 5:8 in the Bible it says, “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (NASB).” The word “sober” in this particular passage means to show moderation, self-restraint, self-controlled, and calm of spirit.

Whether you believe it or not, there is a real spiritual enemy that is after your spiritual and physical life and everything related to that and he hates you.

As I mentioned above, there are many people in our world today that are consumed with satisfying and indulging themselves with no thought of the long-term consequences. It’s actually so far out of balance that some are actually killing themselves.

Wake Up!

The passage below was written by the apostle Paul in Ephesians 5:14-18 in The Voice Translation.

Awake, you sleeper! Rise from your grave, and the Anointed One will shine on you. 15 So be careful how you live; be mindful of your steps. Don’t run around like idiots as the rest of the world does. Instead, walk as the wise! 16 Make the most of every living and breathing moment because these are evil times. 17 So understand and be confident in God’s will, and don’t live thoughtlessly. 18 Don’t drink wine excessively. The drunken path is a reckless path. It leads nowhere. Instead, let God fill you with the Holy Spirit.

It’s not just important in the days we’re living in, it’s critical that you recognize what’s going on around you and prepare yourself. Evil is escalating at an unprecedented rate, but God told us that would happen in Isa. 60:1-3 as well as several places in the New Testament.

We must wake up spiritually. In order to do that you need the power of the Holy Spirit living inside you. If you’re already a Christian but you’ve fallen asleep at the wheel, it’s time to shake yourself awake and see what God has for you to do and exactly where you’re supposed to be living, going to church, and serving.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, you can literally change your eternal destiny in minutes. You MUST recognize you’re not perfect and that you’ve sinned against God by trying to run your own life. You’re not God and He IS and that’s the long and short of it.

Walk Straight

Jesus said in John 3:16 that God so loved this world that He gave His only Son, Jesus. (That was His very best!) And He finished by saying “whoever” believes in Him “will not perish” but have everlasting life. We’re all going to die physically someday. But without knowing Jesus personally as your Lord and Savior, there is a very real spiritual death and that destiny ends in hell forever with no hope of escape.

Hell is not just a bad day here on earth. If you don’t believe in hell you need to hear this testimony of Bill Wiese about 23 minutes in hell.

However, there is also spiritual life in Christ when you bow your heart to Jesus, admit your need for Him and then invite Him into your heart. You will not be sorry you did.

Be Watching for Him

The Bible says that if you’re a Christian and are still alive, Jesus Christ Himself is coming back one day to take all of us to heaven to be with Him forever.

For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thess. 4:16-17 NLT.

This is referred to as the Rapture of the Church.

It also says that we will be rewarded for just anticipating or looking forwarding to Christ returning for us. Second Timothy 4:8 in the NLT says, And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.

That will be a day like we’ve never seen before.

Are you watching for Him? Are you looking forward to Him coming? Are you awake and walking straight? Are you sober?

This old world is not going to last forever and one day soon Jesus is coming back for all who know Him and have accepted Him as Lord, Savior and the only TRUE God!

Are you ready? If you’re not you can be. Simply ask God’s forgiveness for not inviting Jesus into your life and tell Him you want Him to be Lord in your life. Mean it with all your heart, commit to reading, following and obeying His word and you’ll be ready when He comes.

You will NOT regret it, I promise you!

Sin Is a Big Deal!

Posted: January 24, 2017 in Uncategorized

If you go onto Google and type in “What’s the big deal about sin?” you’ll find approximately 3,180,000 links to this subject or something relating to this subject. When I was thinking of this title I was very surprised to see this many individual searches for this particular subject.

It’s my opinion that the church (on a global scale) has failed to some degree in communicating the vital importance of understanding the issue of sin and what it really is and why it hurts us…now and later.

This post is based on two things. My opinion of why I think sin is a big deal and God’s opinion of why He thinks sin is a big deal and what He says about it in the Bible. For those of you who may be disconnecting already because I mentioned the word “Bible,” please hang on until the end of this post. This is not going to be the ranting of some religious, self-righteous bigot who thinks he’s perfect and dare not be contaminated by anyone who believes differently than he does.

Sin Defined

What is the best definition of sin? says sin is any act regarded as a transgression, especially a willful or deliberate violation of some religious or moral principle.

I believe this definition is accurate as long as we understand what real religion is. James 1:27 in the Voice translation says, “Real, true religion from God the Father’s perspective is about caring for the orphans and widows who suffer needlessly and [for us to] resist the evil influence of the world.”

In the New Testament in the original Greek language of the day in which it was written, sin means to be without a share in, to miss the mark, to be mistaken or to wander from the path of uprightness.

 Sin is Fun…for a while!

Many years ago, I, like many others in the world today lived the lifestyle of drinking, partying, drugging and everything that went along with it. I didn’t live that life as long as some have but it was long enough to learn some valuable lessons.

Lesson one is this, sin is fun for a while. Lesson two, sin almost always makes you stay longer than you had planned and it always costs you more than you thought it might. Lesson three, it usually takes longer to get out of it than it did to get into it.

Hebrews 11:25 says that Moses chose rather to endure suffering (from Pharaoh of Egypt) with the children of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.

Sin can never satisfy long term. You’ll always need more of what you’re involved in to get your buzz the next time around. Whether it’s drugs, sex, crime, food, or whatever. You’ll always need more because sin is motivated by a demonic spirit that is only interested in your ultimate destruction and it is never, never satisfied.

So, what am I missing out on?

The definition above that says sin is being without a share in refers to wandering from the path that God has laid out in His word for our blessings in life and the privilege of daily intimate friendship with Him. But that’s the tip of the iceberg metaphorically.

There are approximately 7,000+ promises listed in the Bible that are given for our protection, instruction, wisdom and prosperity that will enhance our lives spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically, relationally, financially, etc.

If we know what God says in His word about a specific issue but we decide to do things on our own and go our own way, that is called sin. When we deliberately or ignorantly sin we have “missed the mark” that God has laid out for us in this area and there will be consequences if we don’t ask forgiveness and truly turn and go the other way (repent). One of the first and most noticeable ways you know you’ve sinned or missed the mark is a lack of peace (if you’re a Christian) because the Holy Spirit is grieved or saddened when we allow sin into our lives, no matter what the nature of it is.

If you continue living in sin whether you’ve accepted Jesus or not, you are still opening the door to your spiritual adversary and destroyer of your soul. If you’re a Christian the devil or satan can never take you to hell…ever! But if you continue in sin he can make life “hell on earth” for you. And don’t think for a minute that’s not part of his plans for you. John 10:10 says that satan’s mo (method of operation) is to steal, kill and to destroy. That’s all he has in mind for you and he is very persistent and very patient in this perverted, evil endeavor.

Your Share is Waiting

If you don’t believe in Christ, that’s your privilege. But the consequences are much more serious if your life comes to an end and you still have not accepted Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior. Don’t wait! Simply say, “Jesus, please forgive me for not believing in you and taking You as my Savior and Lord, I receive You today, now and forever.”

If this makes you snicker or mock, God still loves you and He will honor your decision to die in your sin and end up in hell, but you don’t have to. You can literally change your eternal destiny in seconds with a simple choice and declaration. Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead you shall be saved. That word saved in the Greek literally means to be delivered, protected, preserved and made whole.

When Jesus provided salvation for us on the cross through His shed blood and broken body He fully intended for His sacrifice to also include healing and deliverance of the body and soul. He made provision for all us to be restored to the original intent God had for us from the beginning. And that was wholeness and purity in spirit, soul and body (see 1 Thess. 5:23).

The second you accept Jesus as Lord He moves into your human spirit and real life begins for all eternity. Then you need to get a Bible and start reading about how to think, believe, and “really live.”

Compromising Christians

For those of us who are Christians, we simply cannot afford to compromise our lives, thoughts, and behaviors in these last days. The enemy of our souls is playing hardball and he’s trying desperately to win by any means necessary that is available to him. Secondly and equally important is the fact that the world is watching us because they need someone that they can count on for some answers to this crazy screwed up world we’re all living in.

Please?! Let’s not help the enemy of souls or make it any easier for him. I have dropped the ball many times in my daily walk but I don’t ever want that to become a habit. There are so many areas where we can compromise and I don’t have white space here or time to list the myriad of ways possible and I shouldn’t have to.

We have Holy Spirit living inside of us and if we’ve been attempting to follow the Lord’s leading for any amount of time we should have enough history with Him to know whether or not we have peace from Him about any decisions we’re making.

Keep this in mind as I close. Even the smallest, seemingly insignificant unseen sin that remains hidden or not dealt with in your life is very dangerous and will eventually grow into something more destructive. It is subtle and the longer you ignore dealing with it the more calloused your heart and conscience will become.

Callousness is as thin as layers of an onion. Just one thin layer of sin at time will eventually grow into something much larger and much more difficult to deal with you and you WILL NOT be happy with the end result.

If you have something that needs to be confessed and repented of, do it today and let the peace of Christ that passes all understanding return to your heart. With it will come the joy of the Lord that is your strength. It’s such a good feeling going to bed and knowing in your heart you’re right with God. We can never earn or deserve that kind of blessing in our lives because it’s all the result of the grace, mercy, and love of God for His creation of which you are one.

We may just wake in heaven tomorrow morning.

Don’t be left behind.

Serving You Truth,

Divine Frustration

Posted: January 2, 2017 in Uncategorized

Can you remember a time when you wanted to accomplish something so much, something you believe was a sincere passion of your heart? You believed at a gut-level that the achievement of this thing or experience would not only make you a better person, it would potentially allow you to provide better for yourself and your family, and it would also allow you to serve others and make their lives much easier or better somehow.

Have you experienced the emotion of frustration as a result of not being able to pursue a particular goal that you really believed was possible? Something that you could “actually see” with the eye of faith and you knew it was right in your heart to pursue?

Webster’s defines the word frustration in several interesting ways.

  • A feeling of anger or annoyance caused by being unable to do something.
  • The act of preventing the success of something.
  • A deep chronic sense or state of insecurity and dissatisfaction arising from unresolved problems or unfulfilled needs and dreams (emphasis mine).

Pay Attention to Frustration

In situations where relational conflicts are involved, or issues that may cause anxiety and fear to come to the surface etc, it’s very beneficial to have enough self-discipline to keep your emotions reigned in.

There are other emotions (while still keeping them in check) that we should pay particular attention to such as anger or frustration. Emotions were given to us at birth to be able to enjoy the pleasant aspects of life, warn of us of danger, and so on. On the flip side, negative emotions can be and are great teachers if we know enough to pay attention to them.

As I mentioned earlier, the emotion of frustration lets us know when something specific is wrong. If you’ve been trying to succeed at something for an extended period of time, chances are that you’ve already experienced the emotion of frustration, or will very soon.

Let Frustration Be Your Compass

Frustration can be a great tool for determining direction in life or for a career; much like a compass directs a hiker or outdoors man when he’s in unfamiliar territory.

For example: you may be in a particular position with an organization and you’re very efficient and productive at what you do. The company takes good care of you and provides excellent benefits for you and your family. If you are, that’s great! But being comfortable and secure is not always the answer long-term.

Are you truly happy and fulfilled? Do you believe you’re following the passion of your heart? Do you feel like your natural gifts and talents are being utilized in the best possible way and to their maximum potential? If not, how does that make you feel? Frustrated…perhaps?!!

That can be a good thing if you know in your heart you’re giving that company your very best every day when you come to work. If not, maybe you need to pursue a more challenging position that will allow better use your gifts and talents. Or, you may just need to check your attitude.

Psalms 37:4 in the Amplified Bible says: Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. The word “delight” here means to keep your heart soft, pliable, and teachable. When you do that consistently, God will plant His desires in your heart that will perfectly fit the gifts and talents He’s given you at birth. And you can be sure that those desires will bring maximum contentment and fulfillment.

Psalms 37:5 in the same translation says, Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will bring it to pass (amplification excluded).

You’ll Never Be Happy Until…

you’re pursuing what you were created for.

If you’re gifted in a particular way that you have not yet pursued, but you know what your gifts are, then you need to make some specific effort toward developing and exercising those gifts.

It may not be something that will eventually turn into a career for you; but it just might be!

It could be something as simple as creating an object with your hands that can be turned into a gift or service that would bring someone great comfort, joy, and blessing. It could be that you have an usual ability to fix things like cars, people’s houses, or any number of things.

It’s also very possible that someone reading this article has a particular gift or talent that could be in an infant stage just waiting to be birthed. When that happens, it could mature into a creative, cutting-edge idea for a product or service oriented company that could potentially employ dozens or hundreds of people that would make this world a better place.

Regardless of what your gift or talent is, the world around you and the people around you need what you have and who you are. You see, regardless of what you believe, there is an “all-wise” creator of human beings and He has gifted every person on the face of the earth with particular gifts and talents. And those gifts will, and do reflect glory and honor back to Him first of all.
